Northeastern lands Alabama power forward

Because size is at a premium in the class of 2011, schools are having to look high and low for capable big men. Saturday night, Northeastern was able to land their guy when Bill Coen and his staff convinced Reggie Spencer to leave his home in the Deep South and head to Boston for his college years.
Spencer, a long and athletic 6-foot-7 power forward, hails from Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest.

According to his summer coach Fred Martineer with the Birmingham Storm, a weekend visit won him over.
"Reggie decided to commit to Northeastern," Martineer told Rivals.com. "He had a visit there and decided to go ahead and commit to them."
Very swift in the open court, Spencer is a surprisingly physical player given his relative lack of strength. He has soft hands, will use the glass to finish from different angles and looks like he should be able to carry another 15-20 pounds on his frame pretty easily.
