North Texas Lands Lone Star Sleeper

North Texas was able to keep one of Texas’ best kept secretes Harold Stewart in Texas. The super athletic 6-foot-8, 185-pound combo forward from Crowley (Texas) High School is oozing with upside and will hone his skills as a Mean Green.
"Harold called the coaches from North Texas today and let them know that he is committing to play for them,” said Stewarts AAU coach Erven Davis of the Dallas Pump N Run program. “He will do a great job for them. I think he is a big steal for North Texas. Coach Kobie Baker did a great job of recruiting him. The coaches are the reason Harold chose North Texas.”

Long and lean, Stewart has the potential to be an impact combo forward as he gains weight and refines his skill base.
"He is a player that can play inside and out,” said Coach Davis. “He needs to gain some weight, but he is not afraid to mix it up in the paint. Harold is ultra-athletic. I think he is one of the top 15 players in the state of Texas.
“Harold is just scratching the surface. He held his own in a win over Andray Blatche this summer. He has the talent to play with anybody.”
Coach Davis noted that Stewart, who averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game last high school season, chose the Mean Green of North Texas over Tulsa, SMU, Boston College, New Mexico State, and Liberty.
