North Carolina enters picture for Rivals150 Brooks

Garrison Brooks (Auburn, Al./Auburn) had a quiet start to the recently completed travel season, but he finished up with a July that saw his stock rise in a big way. By the end of the month, high-major head coaches were regulars at his games with Team Carroll.

The most recent school to join the mix for the talented post player out of Alabama is North Carolina. The Tar Heels will be making a trip to Auburn on Saturday afternoon to watch Brooks workout. It’s been rumored that an offer could be coming.

Georgia and Mississippi State, where his father George Brooks is an assistant coach, have been in the mix the longest for the 2017 Rivals150 member, but they are now joined by Arkansas, Arizona State, Auburn, Florida State, Providence and Texas A&M among others. Brooks unofficially visited Auburn this weekend and also spent time on campus last month to meet with head coach Bruce Pearl. He also took an unofficial visit to Arizona State last month. He has one official visit scheduled at the moment and that will be Georgia the weekend of Sept. 30.

North Carolina is expected to stop by for an in-home visit this weekend, and Arizona State and Georgia will follow suit at some point next week.
