NJ Big Man Receives Offer

Grant Billmeier, a 6-10, 230 pound power forward/center from St. Patrick H.S. in Elizabeth, N.J., received a scholarship offer from the Pirates of Seton Hall recently.
Seton Hall has pushed up its intensity in trying to recruit the many talented players from the state of New Jersey. Sources tell us that the Pirates staff went in to a workout yesterday to watch and evaluate several high major players in the state of New Jersey.

Although he is a bit mechanical and lacks fluidity, Billmeier is a good rebounder and solid passer for a big man. He is still working on his offensive skills, and how much he develops those in the coming months could dictate exactly where Billmeier winds up on the high Division I spectrum.
The problem regarding Billmeier was the hype. Billmeier is actually a solid player who will be a fine college basketball player. But the expectations was pushed too high for anyone to live up to.
St. Patrick Head Coach Kevin Boyle previously said that Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia, Villanova, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Purdue and Wake Forest had expressed the most interest in Billmeier thus far.
