Nine Schools For Christopher Lewis

While a number of high major programs are interested in Christopher Lewis, the 6-foot-8, 190-pound power forward/small forward from L.D. Bell High School in Bedford, TX., has nine schools standing at the top of his list. Lewis is quick to admit that he is wide open when it comes to his recruitment and realizes that several new schools are likely to get involved in his recruitment during the AAU summer circuit.
“I am hearing from a lot of schools right now, but I would say that Rice, Tulsa, Texas Tech, Colorado State, New Mexico, UTEP, TCU, Wichita State and Oklahoma State are the schools I am most interested in,” Lewis told RivalsHoops.com. “I know that schools like Rice and Wichita State have been down to see me practice, but I don’t think any other schools have been down yet.

“It’s my plan to take all five official visits before making a decision about a particular school, but I don’t know when those visits will take place,” he added. “I really hope to give a commitment before the start of my senior year, or right after. To tell you the truth, I am really just focused on ending my junior with a strong finish.”
L.D. Bell High School won their playoff game last (Tuesday night), so they have advanced to the second round of the playoffs. Lewis has been a steady performer all year long, but he has elevated his game to another level during this stretch run.
“We just played last night and won a big game. We’ve made it to the second round of the playoffs, so that means we play again on Friday night,” Lewis said. “I scored 21-points and grabbed six rebounds. I have been putting up those types of numbers for most of the year, so I have definitely been pleased with my play.
“There have been times when I have only scored six or eight points, but I have been pretty consistent for most of the year. Because of my size and versatility, I can score from the perimeter, I can beat my man off the dribble if he is slower than I am, I can score facing the basket or I can score with my back to the basket. A lot if it depends on how the opposing team is defending me and what my team needs on that particular night. I feel that I can pretty much do whatever I need to in order to help my team win.”
