Nike All-American Camp: Day One Notebook
Sunday July the 6th was the first day that members of the media could attend the Nike All-American Camp in Indianapolis, Indiana. College coaches can’t make their presence known until July 8th, but there is plenty taking place inside the IUPUI gymnasium. Not only are some of the top high school players from around the county in attendance, so are some of the best college players.
Faces in the crowd: Shelden Williams (Duke), Hassan Adams (Arizona), Keith Langford (Kansas), Sean May (North Carolina), B.J. Armstrong (NBA), George Raveling (Former coach) and Author Johnson (Missouri)
While there are plenty more familiar faces, this that I spotted on the first day.
Notable Players: LaMarcus Aldridge, Ollie Bailey, Corey Brewer, Keith Brumbaugh (2005), Derrick Character (2006), Ron Coleman, Marquie Cooke, Joe Crawford, RaSean Dickey, Jordan Farmar, Daniel Gibson, Kalen Grimes, Malik Hairston, Tyler Hansbrough (2005), Al Jefferson, Maarty Leunen, O.J. Mayo, Jawan McClellan, Josh McRoberts (2005), Greg Paulus, A.J. Price, Shaun Pruitt, Jason Rich, Russell Robinson, Josh Ship, Ronald Steele, Isaiah Swann, Mohamed Tangara, Enrico Tucker, D.J. White,
Early Injury? It appeared that Aldridge, who has given a commitment to Texas, walked into the gym on crutches. The details of the injury aren't known, but more information should be available tomorrow.
Monday Schedule Player interviews take place from 12:00-1:00 pm and 5:30-6:30 pm. Team practices take place from 7:00-10:30 pm.
There are a total of 18 teams and they’re broken into conferences. There are six teams from the ACC, six teams from the Big 10 and six teams from the Pac 10.
The games don’t officially begin until Tuesday the 8th, so look for another practice report on Monday the 7th.
