Nick Berry Signs

Nick Berry, a 6-7, 235 pound power forward from St. Petersburg C.C. in St. Petersburg, FL, signed with Georgia Southern on Monday. He was also being recruited by Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville, Nicholls State, Central Connecticut State, Hampton and Western Michigan.

As a sophomore at St. Petersburg C.C., Berry averaged 14 points and eight rebounds and blocked 38 shots. He shot a team-high 58.2 percent from the field and helped lead SPC to a 27-7 record. The Titans went on to capture the Florida Junior College State Championship, the first state title in the program’s history, and advanced to the NJCAA national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Berry was a first-team All-Suncoast Conference selection and a first-team all-state pick among Florida junior colleges. As a freshman, he was named to the All-Suncoast Conference freshman team and the honorable mention all-conference squad.
