New Schools Calling On Douglas-Roberts

Chris Douglas-Roberts, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound combo guard from Cass Tech High School in Detroit, Mich., has established himself as one of the truly elite players in the class of 2005. The No. 24 ranked player on the Rivals150 list continues to skyrocket up the rankings and, because of that, some of the most prestigious colleges in all of college basketball are taking notice. While Douglas-Roberts remains wide-open in his recruitment, he is seriously interested in a number of schools.
“I have been super busy this summer. I have enjoyed my time playing with “The Family” and we have had a pretty good run so far,” Douglas-Roberts told RivalsHoops.com. “Aside from playing with my AAU team, I am scheduled to participate in several individual events as well. I will be in Oregon next week for the Nike Elite Skills Camp, I will be in Colorado Springs for the USA Developmental Festival and then I will be at the Nike All-American Camp. I definitely have a busy schedule this summer, but its well worth it.”

Douglas-Roberts, the No. 9 ranked shooting guard in the class of 2005, has spent a great deal of time the last few weeks thinking about his recruitment. The Detroit native indicated that he has yet to trim his list, but several new schools have made an impression on the highly talented combo guard.
“Duke, Arizona and North Carolina are pretty much the newest schools to get involved in my recruitment,” Douglas-Roberts said. “When schools like Duke and North Carolina are interested in you, it’s a pretty big honor because of the history and tradition of each program. Coach (Roy) Williams and Coach (Mike) Krzyzewski are two great coaches.
“There was a time when I was really interested in UCLA, but they are no longer recruiting me,” he added. “I have no idea what happened, but they are done recruiting me. I can tell you that Miami-FL is my sleeper school right now. I really like the Hurricanes and will probably officially visit the school. A lot of people might be surprised about my feelings toward Miami, but I really like them.”
Douglas-Roberts made it clear that he plans to take all five official visits in the fall.
