New school on Washingtons list

Reclassified 2006 prospect Michael Washington will certainly be a highly ranked prospect when the Rivals.com revised rankings come out in June. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound combo forward from Heritage Christian High School in Houston, Texas, has a slew of offers, including one from a Big East school that just showed up on his top school list.
"I will take my visits in the fall," said Washington. "I'd like to visit Arkansas, Georgia, Connecticut, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Those are my top five schools right now, but I'm also looking at Arizona and North Carolina."

All seven of these schools are actively recruiting Washington, with all but North Carolina having offered a scholarship. Connecticut is the newest school to make its way onto Washington's list.
Originally from McGehee, Ark., but now at Heritage Christian to improve academically, Washington still has Arkansas slightly ahead of the other schools on his list.
"They are all about the same, but I do still like Arkansas a little better, mainly because that is where I am from," he said.
Washington will play in New Orleans this weekend with the Arkansas Wings, and then he will travel to San Diego to participate in the USA Basketball Festival June 7-11.
The raw, but talented forward is happy about the progress of his game this spring.
"I'm shooting better, penetrating well and developing my post moves," he said.
Michael Washington scouting report
Washington has the athleticism and length that coaches drool over. He is raw, however, and is still learning the game. In need of bulking up, if he can refine his skills and put them together with a feel for the game, he could be an excellent high major combo forward.
