New Orleans PF Lists Top 3

CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA -- Jarvelle Scott (formerly referred to as Warren Scott), a 6-7, 240 pound power forward from Abramson H.S. in New Orleans, La., played this past weekend for the Panthers Select AAU program at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions event.

Scott told us he has a top three list but is also interested in other schools. "Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Arkansas are the three schools at the top of my list," Scott said. "But I am open. I am interested in other schools too."
Oklahoma, California, Miami, Houston, Tulane, and Louisiana State are also being considered. Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser and North Carolina Head Coach Matt Doherty were among the head coaches in attendance at Scott's game in Texas at the Kingwood Classic.
Scott said that he has been offered so far by Wake Forest, California, Houston, Tulane and LSU. Scott has a burly frame which he uses well to gain position and score in the low post, but lacks athletic explosiveness. But he has a sweet touch from the outside and has to be guarded along the perimeter.
This past season at Abramson, Scott averaged 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks per game. He said he has a 3.0 GPA and will take the ACT for the first time in June.
