In a few weeks, Craig Victor, who ranks No. 21 in the class of 2014, will leave his native New Orleans to spend his senior season at Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep.
Before leaving for Findlay, the 6-foot-8 forward had an announcement.
While celebrating at a team banquet with his New Orleans Elite summer program, the five-star prospect announced that he will play his college ball at Arizona.
The announcement ended a flurried few weeks of speculation regarding Victor's decision. Sean Miller and the Wildcats had been considered the leader for some time, but recent buzz had positioned LSU as a heavy competitor.
A combo forward who can play on the interior and step out to make shots from deep, Victor has seen his game go through a transformation over the past few years. After spending a bit too much time on the perimeter hunting jumpers, Victor added strength and went to work on his post game.
Once Victor established himself as a low-post scorer and a productive rebounder, his overall game opened up. He has become adept at getting to the free throw line, and he has become more judicious about mixing his inside and outside games.
Victor is Arizona's second commitment in the class of 2014. He joins four-star point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright.
