New Mexico State lands point guard

New Mexico State was looking for a point guard this spring and they didn't have to go far. Monday night, local product Terel De Rouen offered up a verbal commitment.
A 6-foot-1 point guard from Onate High School right in Las Cruces, De Rouen led his team to a state title as a senior.

"Terel is an athletic PG with good speed," said Ross Romero who coached De Rouen on the New Mexico Force. "He has the ability to get into the lane and finish above the rim. He does a great job setting his teammates up in a drive and dish or drive and kick situation. He has a solid 3 pt shot. He plays with a high motor on both sides of the ball."
De Rouen averaged just over 15 points per game as a senior and at one time had offers from Georgia State and North Texas along with interest from several other mid-majors.
