Nelson Schedules Visit To Duke

Demarcus Nelson, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound shooting guard from Sheldon High School in Sacramento, CA., will be an extremely busy individual during the months of September and October. Nelson will get a good look at the Duke coaching staff throughout the next week, SLAM Magazine will arrive in California on Thursday to do a special feature on him and he has scheduled an official visit to Duke, which will take place during Midnight Madness.
“Steve Wojohowski and Johnnie Dawkins are coming in on Tuesday to watch Demarcus during an open gym session,” Ron Nelson said. “Mike Krzyzewski will be here a week from Tuesday for an in-home visit, and we’ve scheduled an official visit to Duke during the weekend of Midnight Madness, which is October 17.

“We’re really looking forward to that official visit,” he added. “We just want to get down to the campus and check everything out. It’s something that we’re really excited about.”
In-between his open gym workout and his in-home visit with the Duke coaching staff, Nelson will receive a visit from SLAM Magazine. This particular magazine has profiled some of the greatest high school athletes of our time, which speaks volumes for Nelson and his game.
“We got a call from Slam Magazine and they are coming out on Thursday,” Ron Nelson said. “They plan on doing a photo shoot and a spread on Demarcus that will appear in the next issue. I am pretty excited about this, but Demarcus is real low-key about these types of things.
“I don’t know how many times a month Slam releases their magazine, but I’m under the impression that Demarcus will be featured in the next issue,” he added. “I will know all the details once the feature is completed on Thursday.”
Rivals.com ranks Nelson No. 17 on the Rivals150 list and the second best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
