Nelson Breaks State All-Time Scoring Record

Demarcus Nelson scored 30 points to lead the Sheldon Huskies past the Tokay Tigers 91-68 at ARCO Arena Thursday night to advance to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I title game and, in the process, became California's all-time career scoring leader.
Nelson came into Thursday's game needing 26 points to surpass the previous record of 3,359 points held by Emery's Darnell Robinson from 1990 to 1993. Nelson passed Glendora's Casey Jacobsen for the No. 2 spot on February 27 when he scored 29 points against Merced in the first round of the playoffs.
