Neimeyer declares a school; will sign today

The NCAA basketball early signing period begins today as several recruits who have already verbally committed to schools make it official with their signatures on national letters of intent. Casey Neimeyer from Woodland Christian High (Calif.) is among this group. The 6-foot-7 power forward says he is staying local to play in the Big West Conference.
Neimeyer committed to Pacific three weekends ago after also being courted by Long Beach St., Fullerton, Pepperdine, San Diego St., and Cal Poly.

His lone official visit was to Long Beach St. Casey verballed to Pacific after visiting the Stockton campus unofficially back in October.
"Other schools started falling through," said Neimeyer. "[Pacific] made it clear they wanted me. It kinda became clear. My family can come watch me play."
Neimeyer was a member of the Oakland Soldiers club team that reached the semifinals of the "Open" bracket at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas this past summer. Last season, he averaged 19 points and 12.6 rebounds per game for Woodland Christian.
Casey, who is also a pitcher and third basemen, plans to also play baseball at Pacific.
