NE Schools Like Qualifed Senior NY PG

It's been quite a winter for Torey Thomas, the 5'10'' 160 pound point guard from Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, Connecticut. The native of White Plains, New York, spearheaded his team's 26-1 run to the state title, where they knocked off another perennial titan in Connecticut, Bridgeport's Kolbe Cathedral, featuring T. Ron Christy.
But besides the basketball accolades, Thomas has also enhanced his academic standing. Now carrying around a 3.5 GPA in the classroom, Torey has also improved more than 100 points on the SAT, up to 950.

"I'm blessed," said Thomas. "It's been a great year. I've gotten things done in the classroom and on the court."
Colleges in the Northeast have taken notice. Thomas will visit Holy Cross this Thursday unofficially. Others who have been in contact include Loyola(MD), Hartford, Towson, Canisius, Maine, William and Mary, and Colgate. Loyola and Hartford have offered. He had previously visited Hartford. Torey still has all of his five official visits to use.
"I'm still undecided," said Thomas. "I haven't planned any more visits, but I think I will take some more. I still have to dissect everything and see what's best for me."
Thomas, who averaged 13.5 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and four steals this past season at Trinity Catholic, is a pure point who is a strong on-the-ball defender and capable distributor. He possesses good strength and is adept at penetrating and dishing.
Torey has played with the Connecticut Flame AAU program for most of his career. This spring he's bounced around a bit, playing with The Gauchos at The Playaz Fling this past weekend, and with The Long Island Panthers at the IS8 League in Queens.
