NBA For Butler

Jackie Butler, a 6-10, 255 pound power forward/center from McComb H.S. in McComb, Miss., said he is mulling a jump to the professional ranks out of high school.
"I am thinking about going straight to the NBA," he said recently. "I am pretty serious about it."

Butler told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he is still considering many colleges, including North Carolina, Louisville, Alabama, Auburn, Louisiana State and Mississippi.
While it would be a stretch at this juncture to say that Butler is ready for the NBA, he does play a physical style in the low post. Southeast Pump N Run program director Mark Komara told Rivalshoops that Butler will need to work on his frame and conditioning in the coming weeks leading up to the summer.
Butler averaged 25 points, 20 rebounds and 10 blocks per contest this past season at McComb H.S. When asked about his academic ledger, he said he wasn't sure about his GPA and he has yet to take the SAT or ACT.
Butler plans on attending most of the major events on the adidas circuit this summer, including the ABCD Camp, Big Time Tournament, Best of the Summer and Three Stripes Classic.
