Navy lands sharpshooter
As a left handed sharp shooter, Bryce Brigham played a significant role in the success of the Friends of Hoop AAU program last summer. This summer the 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard from Interlake High School in Bellevue, Wash., will take his academic and athletic skills to the Naval Academy.

"I very excited about going to Navy," said Brigham. "I visited there and really liked Annapolis. They have a young and energetic staff that I feel I will improve a lot under. I really like Head Coach Billy Lange. He seems like a great guy.
Along with the excitement of being a part of a great institution, Brigham is also facing the anxiety of attending college on the other side of the country.
"I'm kind of nervous about going across the country but very excited and ready to get started," he said. "Navy has a lot to offer. I leave June 30th for a 6 week boot camp."
Upon graduating from Navy, Brigham will fulfill a five year commitment to the Navy, a commitment which he views in a very positive light.
"I just look at it as a guaranteed job once I finish college," he said. "As a matter a fact, I'm looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to go to Navy."
Primarily a shooting guard, Brigham is working hard on his point guard skills in hopes of contributing right away at both guard positions.
"I think I can come in and help right away," he said. "I know I need to work on my ball handling, so I can play the one and the two. I plan on working hard and helping the team."
Brigham carries a 4.0 GPA and scored a 1240 on the SAT.
