National Power to Visit In-Home with Clinch

Just when Lewis Clinch thought he was set on three schools to consider, he received a phone call from one of the biggest names in college basketball. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound shooting guard from Crisp County High School in Cordele, Ga., will now entertain one more school, adding more suspense to his recruitment.
Clinch, one of the elite shooting guards in the nation, said he received calls from Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and assistant Chris Collins. The conversations have generated an in-home visit scheduled on September 15.

“I’m interested to see what he has to say,” Clinch said. “We are a going to talk and them after that, I’ll see how I feel about that and then go from there.”
Clinch will officially visit Georgia Tech this weekend. He has already taken an unofficial visit and there was a strong possibility that the trip to Atlanta could have produced a verbal commitment.
He will also officially visit Wake Forest on Sept. 10 and then Georgia, where he will visit for a third time on Sept. 17. Clinch was all but done looking and entertaining programs until Duke got involved. After setting his sites on three schools, and on the cusp of getting his official visits started, Clinch said he was a bit surprised by the calls from the Duke staff.
“I was somewhat, but then again I wasn’t,” Clinch said. “Here again, it’s another option. Now I have a real nice option. I know they recruit a certain kind of guy and it’s an honor to be recruited by (Duke). I still feel like my recruitment is on a downhill though. I’m on my way to deciding.”
