Nate Salley, a 6-4, 185 pound safety from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, is likely to play both football and basketball, according to his hoops coach, Steve Strand.
"Each of the schools on his list says he can play both sports," Strand told us today. "Ohio State, Michigan State, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Miami are the schools he is interested in right now."

Salley is having an outstanding basketball year. He is averaging 18 points a game for a team that is 15-3. "He is a big time defensive back in football," Strand said. "But he is also our best defender and athlete on the basketball team."
Salley told Bill Kurelic of MidwestRecruiting.com that he had a good time on his visit to North Carolina State.
"It went well," Salley said of his official visit to North Carolina State.
"I liked the people. They were cool. And the facilities are nice. I leave on Thursday (today) for Ohio State. Coach Conley was at my house tonight. That's the third time he's been here. He's cool."
After Salley trip to Ohio State, he will take a visit to North Carolina on January 26th. He might alos visit Miami. "Miami, Michigan State (Nov. 2 visit), and North Carolina are my top three," Salley told Kurelic.
Salley will go to school on football scholarship and walk on to hoops team, according to Strand.
"He is a big time football player," Strand said. "But he is also a very good basketball player. The basketball programs are also interested in him and they don't have to worry about a scholarship since he will go to school on a football offer."
