Nader to Mountain West

On the verge of garnering national attention on the travel team circuit, 2011 prospect Abdel Nader went ahead and pledged to play in the Mountain West.
Nader, an athletic 6-foot-7, 200-pound combo forward, is headed to New Mexico.

"He really likes how New Mexico is an up and coming program," said Nader's travel team coach Sid White of the Illinois Flash. "The style of play is attractive, and he has a chance to play early. He also thinks a lot of (Assistant) Coach Miller."
Nader also had offers from Baylor, Illinois State, Indiana State and Loyola-Chicago. Much of the Big Ten and the Big 12 had evaluated Nader this spring.
Miller is convinced offers would have rushed in if Nader had waited.
"Abdel is really under the radar," said Miller. "I think he is ready to emerge nationally. He can handle and shoot and is athletic. He was just really comfortable with New Mexico."
Miller, who is originally from Egypt, is slated to play for the African team in the Nike Global Games in August.
Nader joins Dominique Dunning in New Mexico's 2011 recruiting class.
