Mt. Zions Smith reclassifies

As the second leading scorer for the talent laden Mt. Zion Academy team out of Durham, N.C., Tracy Smith has made a move in hopes of elevating his stock even higher as a high-major prospect. Smith, a 6-foot-7, 245-pound power forward, has reclassified to the class of 2007 and some of the top programs in the country are recruiting him according to Mt. Zion head coach Antonio Fozard.
"Tracy is the second leading scorer on the team," said Coach Fozard. "In fact, he scored 24 points on Jimmy Graham the other night. Down low he cannot be stopped. He still needs to pick up his defense and play hard all the time, but no one can stop him from scoring."

Plenty of schools are interested in Smith as Coach Fozard listed Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Iowa State, UNLV, Georgetown, Arkansas, Arizona and Oklahoma State as the schools that have called him concerning Smith.
Coach Fozard is hoping that Smith's reclassification will enhance his national ranking along with making him a more attractive high-major recruit.
"I think he is a top ten player in the class of 2007," he said. "He is still making good progress academically, and might wind up in a situation where he could come out early in 2006 if he wanted to."
