MSU Freshman Transfers to Detroit

Former McDonald's All American guard Brandon Cotton is now a former Michigan State Spartan.
The 6-foot, 175 pound point guard has decided to leave the MSU program after only playing 16 total minutes this season due to a stress fracture in his foot.

Michigan State has given Cotton a full release which will make him eligible to play midseason in 2004-05 for Detroit. Cotton will not lose any eligibilty.
“To me it is a sad situation because I think a lot of people maybe got in his ear. And as I told you before, he has had a variety of personal problems, and he had the injury. I think a lot of things happened that were not related at all to us or the team. And that’s all I can tell you right now," MSU head coach Tom Izzo said earlier in the week.
