Moy a Prep Legend

He might have sat out for a year, but there's not too many people in the Memphis area who have forgotten about prep phenom Taurean Moy.
Moy, a quick 5-11, 165 pound combo guard, has resurfaced this fall at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Okla.

Eastern Oklahoma Head Coach Jimmy Voight told Rivalshoops.com that Moy was recommended to him by the Florida State coaching staff. The Seminoles will likely monitor Moy's progress this winter at Eastern during his freshman campaign.
Moy played quite well at the recent Mullen/Mitchell JUCO Jamboree in Dallas, Tex., where he displayed excellent quickness, deep perimeter range and the ability to create off the dribble.
"Taurean is a terrific shooter with deep range on his jumper," Voight echoed. "He's jet quick and scored 83 points in a high school game."
Moy attended Booker T. Washington H.S. as a senior in 2000-2001, and spent part of the 2001-2002 school year at local junior college Southwest Tennessee. For whatever reason, he didn't play for the Saluqis last year, so he is a second-year freshman at Eastern.
Voight said that part of his challenge in coaching Moy over the next two seasons will be to hone the Memphis native's point guard skills.
"He was such a big-time scorer in high school, but as a point guard at the college level, you have to get other people involved," he said.
Along with sophomores James Parker and Steve Moore, Moy forms a very talented triumvirate in the Mountaineer backcourt. Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on Moy's exploits at Eastern this winter, so keep it here for the top coverage of junior college basketball on the internet.
