Moten Headed To The ACC

It did not take long for Brian Moten to make a decision about his future. After taking a visit to Virginia this weekend, the 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard/small forward from Cincinnati Christian Center Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio, has given a commitment to the Cavaliers. Moten selected Virginia over Baylor, UNLV and Kansas State.
“I was on my visit to Virginia this weekend and decided to give them a commitment before I left,” Moten said. “I made this decision because I really liked the campus, the players and the coaching staff. I just felt that Virginia is the best school for me. I also believe that I have a chance to play in the best conference in America.

“Baylor, UNLV and Kansas State were the other schools that I liked,” he added. “Baylor was the only school of the three to offer me a scholarship. I was really impressed with my visit to Virginia, so I decided to give them a commitment.”
Last season Moten averaged 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game for Arthur Hills High School in Saginaw, Mich., while finishing fifth in the Mr. Basketball balloting. Since the end of last season, Moten has worked hard on developing his perimeter skills for the college level.
“I’ve really improved my passing and rebounding since transferring to Cincinnati Christian Center Academy,” he said. “The main thing I want to work on is my ball handling. I want to be able to play the one through the three when I get to college.”
