Mortensen Commits To Marquette

After taking an official visit to Marquette this past weekend, Matt Mortensen has decided to put an end to his recruitment. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard/small forward from Timpview high school in Provo, Utah, knew he was ready to make his decision after spending time with the coaching staff and players during his visit.

“I committed to Marquette after my visit,” Mortensen said. “I really liked the coaching staff and feel that they are some of the best coaches’ in the country. I also got along extremely well with the players and liked the campus as well.

“I just feel that I will fit in at Marquette,” he added. “Everything about the visit was great. The players and coaches’ really impressed me.”

While Mortensen is more than thrilled with his decision to attend Marquette, the Utah native is looking forward to making some improvements to his overall game.

“I really need to improve my ball handling skills and midrange jump shot,” Mortensen said. “Those are the two areas of my game that I plan to work on.”
