Morrison Looking at Three Schools After Season

As one of the top unsigned seniors in the West, 6-foot-8, 210 pound forward Ty Morrison of Trevor Browne HS in Phoenix is beginning to realize that his days of a high school player are coming to a close. Maybe that is why he is dominating the hoops scene in Arizona.
Trevor Browne is 19-6 on the season and heading into the playoffs with an engine full of steam - especially the unsigned Morrison. He said the team struggled at the first part of the year as everyone tried to find their specific roles. Now, he says, he knows what the roles are. His is all encompassing.

“I do just a little bit of everything,” Morrison said. “I like to think of myself as multi-dimensional. Whatever the team needs, I’ll do it.”
And he means what he says. Morrison said he is averaging 22.5 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists and nine blocks per game. Talk about versatility.
“My work ethic is high and I don’t want to sound cocky at all but I’m one of those people that can play any position on the floor,” the confident Morrison said. “And I’m improving, too.
“Ever since I was a little kid, I just loved blocking shots. It just intimidates everyone out there on the floor. I try to play monster defense. I’d have to say that was my specialty.”
That all around game has made him an intriguing player for college coaches, especially this time of year.
“My high school coach told me to wait until the end of the season before I get too involved in my recruitment,” Morrison said.
That move has paid off. Several new schools have jump into the mix. Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma and Oregon have joined a list that already included Arizona State, San Diego and “most of the PAC-10 schools”, he said.
The athletic forward said he would take official visits after the season is over saying Oklahoma, Oregon and San Diego “are his main three” that he wants to visit.
Before the season began most schools were laying low because of his academic standing. He said he has raised his GPA and he’ll be taking the SAT again later this month and feels “real confident about this one.”
In the event he doesn’t qualify, he has established a plan B. And those plans don’t include a prep school.
“I want to graduate from Trevor Browne. That is something that is very important to me. Everyone from my family has graduated from here and I intend too as well. So prep school isn’t really an option. I’d rather go to a JUCO if I needed another year,” he said.
