Morris Ready To Make His Mark

J.R. Morris told us tonight he is very happy about scoring a qualifying mark on the test. He is eligible to play this Fall for the Big East team. "I am going to be on the campus in June," Morris told us. "I don't know how many courses I will take but I will be there in early summer."
Morris actually received his qualifying score several days ago. "I am going to work out with coach Garrett," Morris said. "I am going to work on my shooting. I want to be more consistent. I can hit the jumper but I want to be more consistent. I also want to get stronger. That's the main thing."

Morris, a 6-4, 195 pound off guard/swingman from Milwaukee, Wis., continued to improve his game at Christian Faith Center of North Carolina this past season. "I felt relief," Morris. "There wasn't pressure. But I said Thank God for the whole situation. I made it through. There are going to be a lot of positives happening next year at Seton Hall."
Morris scored his qualifying score on the ACT. He got the qualifying score on Monday. "My mother called me on the phone," Morris said. "She was very happy."
Morris, like every senior, has to also go through the Clearinghouse. There should be no problems with the process.
RivalsHoops.com saw Morris several times this season. Morris put his firepower on display at the Eastern Jamboree held on the campus of Seton Hall University during the winter. "I think I can play the one, two, and three at Seton Hall," Morris said. "I am looking forward to playing with John Allen and Andre Barrett."
Morris committed to Seton Hall on October 10, 2001. Morris has the ability to make the difficult look easy, whether it's finishing a difficult reverse lay-in in traffic on the baseline, or exploding to dunk the ball. Morris can finish with either hand at the rim, and he's very adept shooting off the dribble and kicking the ball to open teammates when defenses sag on him.
