Morris a top 2010 talent

After his impressive play at the NIKE Peach Jam event, 2010 prospect Jason Morris put himself squarely on the future five-star watch list. This weekend the 6-foot-5, 190-pound wing prospect from Lakeville (Conn.) Hotchkiss School is traveling across country to participate in Arizona's Elite Camp.
"Jason has played in elite camps at Florida, Clemson and Boston College, and all these schools were very impressed with his play," said Hotchkiss head coach Fred Benjamin. "Virginia, Georgia Tech, Xavier, Georgia and South Carolina are also recruiting Jason. He has six or seven offers from SEC and ACC schools but we just aren't ready to put it out yet on what particular schools have offered."

An athletic and also skilled player, Morris has a versatile game well ahead of his years.
"Jason is a great kid and a special talent," said Benjamin. "He has a strong skill set and a strong work ethic to go along with it. Despite his size, he is a combo guard with point guard abilities. His playmaking abilities and court vision make him a dangerous player."
Morris made his mark immediately at the Hotchkiss School as a freshman. He averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game and registered a B average at one of the toughest schools in the country.
Morris isn't the only talented underclassman on the Hotchkiss squad. In coming freshman Derrick Wilson is also a terrific talent. The6-foot-1, 185-pound point guard had some big performances for Branch West Alaska playing at the 17-under level at the Reebok Summer Championships.
"Derrick is a floor general who can also score the ball," said Benjamin. "The coaches who saw him play in Vegas said we have a special one in Derrick."
