More Schools Show Interest In CA Center

Jarrod Boswell, the 7-1, 260 pound center from El Capitain High School in Lakeside, CA, is getting interest from more schools, according to his dad, Jeff.
"Teams from the Mountain West and Big West are asking for in home visits," Mr. Boswell said today. "And he has scholarship offers from Wyoming and Colorado State now." Previously, the elder Boswell reported that Jeff was being recruited by Oregon, California, Southern Cal, San Diego State and Pepperdine.

Boswell, who averaged 20.5 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.2 blocks per game as a junior, earlier indicated that he prefers to go to a college on the west coast. "Oregon's head coach Ernie Kent (pictured above with Boswell and his high school coach, Ross Furrow) came down for an in-school visit and we've been up to Berkley." Kentucky, Georgetown and North Carolina were on his earlier list.
Bowell, who had some ankle problems earlier this summer, plays with High Five but was unable to participate at this week's Big Time Tournament due to summer school committments. He'll be at Best of Summer at Loyola Marymount playing for Beach Cities Club and will head to the 50th state for Pete Newell's Big Man Camp.
Boswell enters his senior campaign as the sixth all-time shot blocker in the county and he broke Bill Walton's record last season with 141 blocks. Boswell shot 63.7 percent from the floor and 61.3 from the charity stripe.
Boswell maintains a 2.5 GPA. He got a 940 on the SAT and will also take the ACT.
