More Saturday standouts from Thanksgiving Hoopfest

DUNCANVILLE, Texas- We already took a look at some of the top 2013 Texans who were in attendance at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest. But, there was more talent on the floor and top-five senior Isaiah Austin backed up his lofty status.

Isaiah Austin, C, Grace Prep- The seven-foot Baylor signee has had people beg him to play in the paint since he first took the floor. That's exactly what he did for two games in Duncanville and he was terrific in every way. He dunked, he contested shots and he crashed the glass which allowed him to then face-up some and attack off the dribble. He totally controlled the lane while racking up 16 points, 12 rebounds (six offensive) and three blocks during a high-level win over Ft. Bend Travis and the Harrison twins.

Jordan Mickey, SF/PG, Grace Prep- Though he's separated from the five top 28 2013 Texans featured on Saturday, the 6-foot-7 combo-forward is closing the gap. In fact, he's doing it rapidly. After showing off his expanded perimeter skill game on Friday, Mickey patrolled the paint on Saturday as Grace Prep looked to punish the smaller Ft. Bend Travis team on the interior. As a result he altered lots of shots and scored a game high 29 points on a variety of dunks and quick spins near the hoop.

Austin Grandstaff, PG/SG and Elijah Thomas, C/PF, Rockwall- Keep an eye out on this 2015 duo because they have lots of potentials. A good sized combo guard, Grandstaff is a super competitive and skilled kid who can knock down deep jumpers, set up teammates or drive the lane. His partner "Big Barbecue" looks pretty good himself. At 6-foot-7, Thomas is a big bodied kid with soft hands and great touch.

Michael Qualls, SF, Huntington- Because his summer team was so dominated by Ricardo Gathers, the 6-foot-5 small forward might have slipped under the radar. Because at the Hoopfest he looked every bit the part of a high major wing with near obscene athleticism and a big time motor. Arkansas is a perfect fit for him.

Matthew McQuaid, SG, Duncanville- A toothpick thin freshman, the 6-foot-3 McQuaid is definitely going to be one to watch. The first time he touched the ball he swished and 24 footer and several others followed. Super competitive, he's also a playmaker off the dribble with outstanding vision and feel for the game.

Davontae Bailey, PG, Duncanville- Bailey will team with Grandstaff, Thomas and McQuaid on Team Texas this summer and he's a nice looking young point guard. The ball is on a string and he's a true set up guy who orchestrates the offense and gets teammates involved and scores when needed. Bailey is one to watch down the road.

Omar Sherman, PF, Duncanville- The sophomore isn't a quick leaping dunker, but he's a skilled and crafty finisher around the rim. At 6-foot-7, he's already got a good-sized frame and can also step out to knock down some jumpers in pick and pop situations. Duncanville's group of young players is an excellent one.

Jeremie Senglin, SG, Arlington Bowie- At around six-foot tall, the ball is usually in the junior's hands but he appears to be more of a natural shooting guard. And shoot the ball is exactly what he does with great accuracy and range. Senglin drained deep shots from all over the place and showed some burst off the dribble.

Daniel Giddens, PF and Jaylen Brown, SG, Marietta Wheeler- Wheeler was missing a couple of key components in Duncanville and took a couple of ugly losses on the chin. However, there is hope down the road with a pair of 2015 prospects. Giddens is a long and athletic insider who can run the floor and looks to have some touch. Brown, is a shooting guard with a sweet stroke, good length and a feel for the game on the offensive end.

Stevie Clark, PG, OKC Douglass- It was a great weekend for the 5-foot-10 junior personally even though his team suffered two tough losses. His shot is a little bit of a set shot, but he is literally a threat to pull the trigger on a shot from the second he crosses half court. On top of that, he's as quick with the ball as any player in the country and he's learning to make plays and gets to the free throw line. He went for 41 in a loss to Kimball and is attracting attention from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Tulsa and many more.

Shannon Lilly, PG/SG, Dallas Kimball- His junior teammate Keith Frazier gets a lot of the publicity, but the 5-foot-11 senior is the heart and soul of Kimball. A dangerous shooter with deep range, he's plays fearlessly and is a winner.
