More on Kyle Wilsons Decision

Kyle Wilson, a 6-8, 215 pound combination/power forward from Jesuit H.S. in Dallas, Tex., committed to Illinois. "Coach Self and his staff are great," Wilson said. "They are losing a lot of guys after this season. There is going to be a big need for players like myself."
Wilson finished up his visit to Notre Dame this past weekend. "I had a very good visit," Wilson said. "But I felt with Illinois being in the Big Ten and the need for someone like myself there, Illinois was my best choice."

Wilson, a skilled forward, was one of the top players at the Great American Shootout in Denton, Tex., last weekend. Wilson has the ability to put the ball on the floor for a big man and face the basket with range out to about 18 feet. Though he will need to continue getting stronger to mix it up more effectively inside, he may eventually be able to play the three slot at the Division I level.
Wilson helped lead Team Texas Select to the final four of the Shootout, where his club fell to the Tallahassee Wildcats in the final four.
As a junior at Jesuit, Wilson averaged 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks per game. Wilson is equally solid in the classroom, weighing in with a 3.2 GPA and 1140 SAT score.
