It was an up and down summer, filled with twisting emotions for Josh Wright, a point guard from Proctor High School in Utica, N.Y. In the early portion of the summer AAU sessions, one of Wright's close relative passed away and he missed some tournament games. Then, Wright hurt his ankle in Las Vegas and limped around with the Long Island Panthers for a few days. And recently, Wright ended up being suspected in some illegal activity.

"Josh was at the wrong place at the wrong time," said his coach, Gary Charles of the Panthers. "He will take a lie detector test to prove himself. He was trying to get people off of a guy who was being beat up. He said he didn't touch the guy but he was recognized as being there."
Wright has always been low key and kind in RivalsHoops.com interviews. "He didn't do anything wrong," Charles said. "He was trying to break up the fight."
In the meantime, Wright, 6-foot-0, 170-pounds, has cut his list down. Charles stated Boston College, Seton Hall, and Connecticut were very strong in the recruiting process.
A source close to Wright did state that Josh is also considering Syracuse. The Orangemen have also offered Wright. In fact, Wright may visit Syracuse soon. Charles said no school leads right now. "They all have an equal chance to get Josh," he said.
Wright is listed as the 37th best player in the 2004 class in the Rivals150.
