Three-star power forward Theryn Hudson has put up some big numbers early in the season for Lavergne (Tenn.) High School. High-major interest is beginning to swirl around Hudson, 6-foot-9, 223-pounds, as several programs are expected to be in the stands for tonight’s game.
“Lipscomb and Murray [State] watched him his first game,” said Coach Barry Workman of Lavergne High School. “Theryn played extremely well. He scored 17 points, had 11 rebounds and blocked 7 shots.

“We have gotten a lot of calls the past couple days. Ohio State was supposed to come in, and Illinois, Penn State and SMU are also trying to get in on the 30th, I believe.”
Since that opening game last week, Hudson put up 20 points and 19 rebounds during a tough two point overtime loss over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Still developing with his best basketball ahead of him, Hudson is a shot blocker on the defensive end and can knock down the three-pointer on the offensive end. As he gets stronger and continues to improve his skill level, he will become more of a threat to score with his back to the basket.
