More coaches watching Harp

Although his Cooper High School squad is struggling with a 0-4 record in the district and a 12-9 record overall, three-star 2007 prospect Ryan Harp is holding up his end with some very solid play. Several coaching staffs have made the trip to Abilene, Texas to watch Harp, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard play, and more coaches are expected this weekend.
"UNLV was in for a practice two days ago," said Harp's father Dennis Harp, who is a former college coach. "Bobby Knight came to a game recently. Northwestern flew in this season and has done a tremendous job recruiting Ryan. North Carolina State has also been in twice, and Stanford and Florida State said they would be in this weekend to watch him. Also, Notre Dame has been in to watch Ryan."

Harp, who plays for Texas Top Prospects on the AAU circuit, is averaging 23.5 points, 9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game.
He is also being recruited by William & Mary, TCU, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Rice, Wichita State, Texas A&M, Valparaiso, Indiana State and Missouri State among others.
Although Harp is receiving strong interest from so many schools, his father said is son has a pretty good idea whom he would like to visit after the season.
"I'm sure he will visit Stanford and Northwestern," said Dennis Harp. "I think he will visit North Carolina State, and I wouldn't be surprised if he visits Florida State and UNLV with his last two visit. But you never know with the way things can change all of the sudden."
A very strong student, Harp has a 3.8 GPA.
