"I really liked the new gym- the Ryan Center," Moore said. "It was very nice. The coaching staff(was also a factor). I liked all of the coaches on the staff."
Moore is a broad-shouldered space-eater with an excellent basketball body. He possesses good upper-body strength. JR is most active on the defensive end of the floor at this point and on the glass. His offensive game still needs some polish. Moore mostly dines on stick-backs and in-close pull-ups offensively.
JR averaged 11 points and 9 rebounds at Benson High School in Portland last season. He looks forward to helping Rhode Island re-establish itself in the Atlantic 10.
"I'm excited to play with everybody," Moore said. "We're young, but we're going to make some noise."
JR is good to go with his core requirements. He has scored 1050 on the SAT.
