Montgomery has dream school

Three-star 2008 prospect Jeremy Montgomery made a strong impression over the summer playing in the adidas Top Ten camp and playing for the 17-under Illinois Fire team in the adidas Super 64. Unfortunately, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound combo guard from Lincoln Park High School in Chicago, Ill., has missed all but the first four games of the high school season with a broken hand.
"I'm looking at being out a couple more weeks," said Montgomery. "Hopefully, I can get back with the team for some of the playoffs."

Not a whole lot has been happening on the recruiting front while Montgomery has been unable to play. He is, however, receiving interest from nearby schools Illinois, Bradley and Northwestern.
"Illinois is my dream school," said Montgomery. "I've been watching Dee Brown and really like the way he plays. I just like the program in general. I've been watching Illinois since I was a kid."
Montgomery did note that if he did not go to Illinois, he would prefer to go to school outside the state of Illinois.
Set to play again with the Illinois Fire, Montgomery realizes the importance of how he plays this summer.
"Coaches haven't had a chance to watch me play this year," he said. "I really want to come out strong and help the Fire win games."
Jeremy Montgomery scouting report:
Crafty with the ball and possessing a knack for changing speeds, Montgomery is able to gain separation against more athletic players. A smooth shooter off the dribble, Montgomery also sees the floor well. Plays with strength on defense, but his footspeed has room for improvement.
