Monroe Routs Sullivan County C.C.

On the strength of 6-0 point guard Kingsley Edwards' 28 point, five assist performance, and noteworthy efforts by sophomores 6-2 combo guard Kevin Bell and 6-5 swingman Ryan Williams, Monroe College, currently ranked in the top 20 of the NJCAA Division I poll, rolled to a 116-78 win over Sullivan County (NY) Community College at Mount St. Michael High School in The Bronx, New York on Thursday night.

The Mustangs leapt out to an early lead by knocking down eight straight three-pointers to open the game, opening up a 62-29 advantage at the half. Monroe shot 15 of 29 for the game from three, a 51.7 percent clip.

Williams added 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Bell pitched in with 20 points and nine assists versus only two turnovers.

Freshman combo forward Gary Jones led Sullivan with 16 points and five rebounds.
