Mix of interest in Hunt

With only two years of basketball under his belt, Garvin Hunt, a Bahamian native, is now developing his game at Sagemont High School in Westin, Fla. Despite being far from a finished product, the 6-foot-9, 218-pound center has both mid-majors and high-majors tracking him closely.
"Both Garvin and his sister are very good students, so their mother moved to South Florida to get them a better education," said Sagemont head coach Adam Ross. "Garvin is doing a great job for us, and I think he is going to be a late bloomer. His first basketball game was 24 months ago."

Averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds so far this season, Hunt is working hard to bring his skill level on par with his athleticism.
"Garvin has a phenomenal body and is a great athlete," said Ross. "He just hasn't played a lot of ball. What he needs is just more experience because he gets better every day. If his skill level catches up with his athleticism, he is a high-major. If it doesn't catch up, he is a mid-major."
Coach Ross' assessment matches up with Hunt's recruitment. Penn State, Miami, LSU and Florida State are all interested in Hunt, with Florida State having offered Hunt according to Ross. Hunt also has offers from TCU, Delaware and Florida International.
