Mitchell no longer a Wildcat

Three-star prospect Tony Mitchell's stock is on the rise, but unfortunately for Kansas State, it doesn't look like the small forward is going to be a Wildcat.
"Tony went up to Kansas State on a visit through his school without me, and two weeks later I heard through other parties that he was committed," said Mitchell's mother Angie Mitchell. "He was young and hadn't been on any other campuses.

"Now he is going to definitely look at other option and see where he feels comfortable athletically and academically."
Mitchell, 6-foot-8, 220-pounds from Miami (Fla.) Center Life Academy, had offers from Marquette, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Florida State, SMU and TCU before he committed to Kansas State. Mrs. Mitchell said that these schools have respected her son's commitment.
"Even though it was a verbal commitment and not a signed commitment, the other schools have respected it and not made contact," said Mrs. Mitchell. "That is why we feel it is important to officially open up his recruitment."
Mitchell will participate in the Lebron Skills Academy and subsequent tournament and will run with Brandon Bass Elite the rest of July.
The likelihood of Kansas State re-recruiting Mitchell is quite bleak at this point.
"Kansas State will be sitting at the back of the bus," said Mrs. Mitchell.
