Mitchell makes his pick

Jon Mitchell, a 6-foot-6, 233-pound power forward from Mount Vernon (N.Y.) High School, was down to three schools prior to the weekend. On Sunday night he is down to one. The three-star no non-sense forward has made his pick after his final recruiting visit.
Mitchell verbally committed to the University of Florida on Sunday night after visiting the SEC program. He also considered Marquette and Virginia. The trip to Gainesville was all he needed.

"Gainesville's lived up to its hype," Mitchell told GatorBait.com, the Florida site on the Rivals.com network. "Everyone's said it's a nice campus, but you don't know until you've seen it yourself. It's a beautiful campus with nice facilities. I got a chance to see the lineups with the lights off (at the O'Connell Center). It was exciting and to see yourself in that situation with the fans and a jam-packed house - I definitely liked it."
Mitchell, the No. 33 ranked power forward in the class of 2006, gives the Gators a strong interior force who will blend nicely with the rest of the recruiting class. Mitchell joins Hargrave forward Marreese Speights and Memphis native Brandon Powell, a 6-foot-3 guard.

Mitchell may be undersized at 6-foot-6 but his aggressive style of play will fit in nicely in the SEC. Here to view this Link.
