Mississippi State struck for the third time within the Rivals150 on Tuesday with the commitment of top-75 forward Robert Woodard II. A 6-foot-6 prospect with a plethora of versatility in the frontcourt, Woodard chose the Bulldogs over Memphis and Alabama, giving MSU another nationally ranked recruiting class.

Bringing a strong pedigree and bloodlines to the SEC program, Woodard has competed against the elite at invite-only United States Basketball events throughout the past two years. The son of Robert Woodard Sr., a former Mississippi State ballplayer, Woodard II will continue the family lineage in Starkville.

A versatile prospect that can play either forward position, Woodard is graced with an unbelievable basketball body along with a 6-foot-11 wingspan. While not an explosive athlete, Woodard can defend multiple positions, makes shots from each level on the floor and even playmake in spurts as a secondary ball handler.

Against the best on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, he averaged 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, along with close to two more steals and blocks per contest.

The third commitment in the 2018 class for the Bulldogs, Woodard will be joined by versatile wing DJ Stewart and five-star power forward Reggie Perry next year, giving Mississippi State a top-15 class this fall.
