Milligan Catches Eyes on Tuesday

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Dante Milligan (right) may not have the rep of a Charlie Villanueva or a Mike Jones, but the 6-8, 200 pound forward did a terrific job for the Long Island Panthers on Tuesday night at the adidas Big Time Tournament.
Milligan was a huge factor on the offensive glass in the Panthers' 79-59 victory over DTA Wisconsin as Long Island pushed its pool play record to 3-0. He finished the game with 17 points and a bushels of rebounds.

Milligan said he's been offered by Rutgers and Hofstra thus far, and Stanford has expressed heavy interest of late as well. However, the Cardinal staff told Dante that he will need to boost his SAT score a bit if he is to be admitted to the PAC 10 school.
Others in the mix include George Washington, LaSalle, UMass, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Providence, West Virginia, Alabama-Birmingham, DePaul and Marquette. He said that West Virginia could be on the verge of offering a scholarship.
Milligan attends Trinity Pawling H.S. in Pawling, N.Y. He has a lot of upside because he's very mobile, a good athlete and still hasn't filled into his frame. There are times when he likes to float out to the perimeter and play on the wing a bit, but the bottom line is that he's a quick four man who has the chance to make the transition to the three down the road at the D-I level. That will entail improving his ball handling and perimeter shot consistency.
We will keep you posted on Milligan as the summer unfolds, so keep it tuned here for the best information of the Class of 2003.
