Miller says Big 12 team leads crowded field for now

WHEELING, WV. – Transferring into the highly lauded La Lumiere School this fall, Emanuel Miller has begun to see his recruitment pick up steam. A 6-foot-6 small forward with a world of abilities and upside, Miller has seen a number of programs emerge, and a Big 12 team currently sits in the pole position.

Virginia Tech, Creighton, Ohio State and Pittsburgh are in the mix, but Oklahoma may have the early lead for Miller. Capable of being used as a jumbo playmaker thanks to his feel and vision, Miller is a tremendous athlete who sports great length and toughness.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Virginia Tech: “They have my boy, Nickeil Alexander-Walker up there, so I am just trying to get familiar with the program.”

Ohio State: “I have been in really close contact with Ohio State; we text on a daily basis. They have been recruiting me pretty hard and telling me how I would be a good fit within their program.”

Creighton: “They saw me up in Canada and ever since, they have been coming to our practices and doing the same thing as Ohio State, recruiting me just as hard and trying to say that I am a perfect fit for their program. I have seen a couple of their games so far; they get up and down in transition, they don’t run too many sets but play freely, which I like.”

Oklahoma: “Trae Young is just a dog and Coach (Carlin Hartman), he has been texting me, sending me mail and Oklahoma is still definitely the top program recruiting me.”

Pittsburgh: “They have two Canadians up there in Marcus Carr and Shamiel Stevenson, so those are also two of my closer friends. They have been sending me mail about the program and I am just trying to get familiar with them.”

WHAT'S NEXT

Miller is just beginning to see his recruitment expand as he is in no rush to make a college decision.

No timeline for a college commitment or a cut list is near as Miller remains focused on completing his junior season with nationally ranked La Lumiere.

RIVALS REACTION

A member of the Rivals150, the three-star wing brings a bevy of tangibles to the playing floor that a number of power conference teams would love to have.

Bringing a wealth of versatility and energy to both sides of the court, Miller remains patient with the recruiting process. Expect for a handful of schools to enter the mix this spring once his senior travel season begins, though it does look as if Oklahoma has the leg up on the competition.
