Miller Has Taken Two Visits

Elijah Miller, a 6-10, 215 pound center from Heritage Christian H.S. in Cleveland, Tex., has taken a pair of fall official visits thus far.
Rivalshoops.com caught up with Heritage Christian Head Coach Jerome Tang recently, and he filled us in on the latest happenings with his developing big man.

Miller visited Houston (Sept. 13-15 ) and Liberty (Sept. 20-22), and also has generated interest this fall from East Carolina and Evansville, among others.
"He is weighing his options and trying to decide whether he wants to sign late," Tang said. "What he doesn't want to do is jump into something and then regret it."
Tang feels that one school on Miller's list might provide the best situation for his budding big man.
"I just feel that the University of Houston is a good fit for Elijah, although I would never tell a player where he should go," Tang said. "For what he wants to do both academically and basketball wise, as well as the proximity to his family and the people that he really cares about."
"Houston has a need for a low post player who can come in, defend the block, play hard and rebound," Tang continued. "They have room for him to grow as a player, and he is only going to get better."
A native of Lake Charles, La., Miller struggled to find his niche last spring on a very talented Houston Hoops squad. He switched this summer to play with the Fort Worth Lions, and gained some notoriety in July when he hooked up against the Fox Valley Skillz's Brian Butch at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
Miller played a very physical game against Butch, eventually knocking the talented 6-11 forward/center out of the game after the two became entangled underneath the basket.
Rivalshoops.com plans on catching Heritage Christian this winter at some major events, and we'll keep you abreast on Miller's progress on the court. In the meantime, we'll continue to monitor his situation this fall, and should he make a decision, we will let you know.
