Miles Torn Between Two

Chris Miles, a versatile center from Timpview High School in Provo, Utah is torn between BYU and Gonzaga.
Gonzaga made their pitch to the 6-foot-10, 215-pound Miles during an in-home visit this week.

“It went pretty good,” said Miles, the No. 15 center in the Rivals150. “It didn’t help me out a lot about making a decision, but it went good. I enjoyed talking to Coach Few. He gave me a lot of information about the school. It’s a tough decision. I will need to take my official visits before I can decide.”
Miles recently eliminated Utah from his list, but Utah State is still included behind BYU and Gonzaga.
Miles is waiting to take the ACT on Oct. 25. He will then try to get his visits in before the early signing period.
“I will definitely visit BYU and Gonzaga, and I might visit Utah State if I have time after my other visits,” he explained. “I want to sign early. After my visits if I am not ready to make a decision, I might wait and then verbally commit and wait to sign till April. Hopefully, I’ll be able to take care of it early.”
When comparing BYU and Gonzaga, BYU has the attraction of being close to home while Gonzaga has the allure of a basketball power.
“BYU is close to home, and my family will be able to watch me play. I have a lot of friends and family that like BYU.”
“Gonzaga is better at basketball. They are ranked something like number five in the preseason poll. My success would probably be higher at Gonzaga. They win more games, and almost all their games are on tv. I would get more exposure and a better opportunity at being better if I went to Gonzaga.”
