Miles Focused on Five

The No. 30 ranked player in the class of 2005 C.J. Miles is one of the more attractive prospects in his class mainly because of his long term potential. At the Nike All-American Camp, the 6-foot-5, 195-pound wing player from Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, gave his narrowed down school list of five to Rivals.com.
“The schools are Kansas, Texas, Georgia Tech, Arizona, and North Carolina,” said Miles. “They have all offered.”

Miles has already visited Texas, and he plans to see the other four schools in the near future.
“I will take official visits to Arizona and North Carolina,” he said. “I have already seen Texas. I will take an unofficial to Georgia Tech when I am down there for the Peach Jam, and I will take an unofficial to Kansas when I am in Kansas City at the end of the month.”
There is, however, another school that is just on the outside looking in at Miles’ top five.
“Illinois is a possibility also,” he said. “They have been talking to me a lot lately, and I am thinking about them.”
Miles is athletic but a bit passive at times. He is a super passer in transition, has a strong midrange game, and can get hot from behind the three point line.
The downside to his game is his passivity, as mentioned, and his lack of strength and toughness on defense.
Miles, himself, had these comments about his play at the Nike Camp.
“I have been passing the ball well, and now I am scoring more as the camp goes on. I do need to work on my strength and quickness on defense.”
The good news is that the coachable Miles will improve in these areas as he matures and spends time in the weight room. That is why Rivals.com rated him the No. 2 long term prospect at shooting guard behind Louis Williams at the Nike Camp.
