Landon Milbourne will play his college basketball career in the ACC. Take that to the bank. But at what school in basketball's power conference remains the question. The 6-foot-6, 195-pound small forward from St. Francis High School in Alpharetta, Ga., is down to two conference stalwarts and he's pretty much closed the door to any comers.

Rivals.com was at St. Francis High School on Tuesday night for the team's battle with defending single A state champions Southwest Atlanta Christian and had a chance to see Milbourne in action against another top class of 2006 prospect Javaris Crittenton.
While Milbourne, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound small forward, struggled with fouls, he did manage to record eight points, five rebounds and three blocked shots in the 89-82 victory. Crittenton finished with a game high 31 points and seven assists.
Despite struggling with any kind of consistency because of the fouls, Milbourne showed glimpses of why he is a four-star prospect. When he's at the top of his game, that is exactly what he does well. Milbourne is a long player who can pull up from the mid range game but also has the explosiveness to get to the bucket off the dribble. Regardless of his skill set and his teammates, Milbourne knows each game teams will test their fundamentals.
"They are definitely coming at us real hard now. We are on top of the rankings and people know that," he said. "People underestimated us last year but they are definitely coming at us this year."
Even in the midst of trying to capture the school's first state championship, Milbourne is also paying close attention to the recruiting process. A number of high-major programs have tried to get in but Milbourne says he's actually going the other direction by deleting rather than adding options.
"I'm trying to narrow the schools down," he said. "I do spend a lot time talking to coaches and schools but I don't let it affect my game at all. It just helps me work harder."
With unofficial visits to Maryland and Georgia Tech under his belt, Milbourne said the Terps are sitting in the driver's seat for the moment. Maryland assistant Mike Lonergan was at the game on Tuesday night, too.
"Right now, they are still my favorite school," Milbourne said after the game. "They are always going to be my favorite school. Every time I watch them play I just work on what they didn't do. I know in their last game, they didn't have any shooters. I came right into the gym and started shooting jumpers. So I came right into the jump and just starting shooting. Whatever they need me to do, I can do it. Whatever it takes to get better, that's what I'm going to do."
Georgia Tech has not given into Maryland's lead. In fact, Milbourne said they've only improved their standing with him.
"Tech's been involved a lot. I've been going down there a lot. I've been down there for almost every home game. I really like Tech a lot right now. I think it fits me. They are going to be in the big picture when I make my decision.
"Right now, they are pretty close. I didn't think it was going to be that close but they are pretty close," Milbourne said. "Those are the only two that I'm really focusing on right now."
So what put the Jackets up to the top with Maryland? Try all of the times he's seen the team play in person.
"Just watching them play, it's just so fun watching them play," Milbourne said. "I can see myself out there when I watch them play."
Milbourne is rated as the 11th best small forward and ranked as the No. 55 ranked player overall in the nation by Rivals.com.
