Mikalauskas Getting Offers

Originally from Lithuania, Laurynas Mikalauskas, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward, has been playing basketball in America for three years at Blue Ridge High School in St. George, Virginia. Mikalauskas played this weekend for the Boo Williams team, and he already has a handful of high major offers.
Mikalauskas, who loves to run the court, rebound, and attack the basket, lists offers from Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, and West Virginia.

He is also receiving strong interest from Wake Forest, N.C. State, and Marquette. The two schools he loves, however, are North Carolina and Kansas.
“Two of my favorite schools are North Carolina and Kansas,” said Mikalauskas. “I am not sure if Carolina is going to offer, but I am waiting. And I love Kansas’ style of play. They run the court and have athletic players.”
Marquette is coming in soon to visit with Mikalauskas, and he is planning on taking an official visit to Virginia in a few weeks. He already took an official visit to Virginia Tech.
“The visit to Virginia Tech was really fun,” he said. “It is a very nice school with a good coach.”
One of the better athletic/skill plays of the weekend was when the left handed Mikalauskas got his man up in the air with a shot fake around the free throw line. He then got to the rim with one powerful dribble and scored an and-one with his right hand over two defenders. One of the defenders was knocked beyond the basket support. Before shooting his free throws the polite Mikalauskas solemnly apologized to his victim.
