Michigan State snags homebred power forward

To most of the recruiting world, junior Deyonta Davis is a bit of a mystery. But, Tom Izzo is already very familiar with the big man.
Wednesday afternoon, Michigan State scored a verbal commitment from Davis after offering over the summer.

A 6-foot-9 power forward at Muskegon (Mich.) High from the class of 2015, Davis is somebody that the Spartans have made a priority since falling in love with him over the summer.
When Rivals.com spoke with Keith Guy, Davis' coach at Muskegon, during the fall he described his junior star as an athletic four man with faceup skills. Davis is also known for his ability to run the floor and those that have become familiar with him say that he has the ideal body type for a Big Ten player and can easily add strength without losing his athleticism.
Currently a three-star prospect, Davis is a priority watch for Rivals.com this winter and next spring.
